Peebles Wood Market and Tree Festival

Summary Description:

To support the Peebles Wood Market and Tree Festival, a community organised two day event to be held in October. The event is to be a celebration of the woodlands and forests of South Scotland that communicates and highlights the benefits, opportunities and challenges facing forestry and woodland management.

This will include hosting the Scottish Conker Championships, chainsaw carving, wood turners and furniture makers, information on deer management and venison, other non-timber forest products, policy and grants for woodland management and new woodlands, environmental and conservation benefits, talks and presentations and information on careers and jobs in forestry and conservation. There will also be family activities and locally produced food available.

SFT Funds Awarded: £3,000

Project Outcomes:

The festival was held on 18th and 19th of October and was well attended.
