Forestry makes a huge contribution to so many key priorities in the 21st Century. Responding to climate change; contributing to energy security; eco-system health and providing receational opportunities as well as providing spectacular landscapes to be enjoyed by all, characterise the role of modern forestry in the UK.

Over the last 30 years, we have supported research and education projects to help build independent, authoritative and accessible knowledge in the following areas:

  • Research on trees and climate change
  • Protecting our forests from pests and diseases
  • Sustainable forest management practices
  • Understanding timber properies to support industry development
  • Supporting biodiversity and the wider woodland ecosystem
  • Community and social engagement with trees and woodlands in both urban and rural settings

With ever increasing pressure on resources, we are continually being asked to support further research in these priority areas and, with your help, we can do even more.

All donations are gratefully received and really make a big difference to our projects.
