Herefordshire Parkland Conference 2026

Carried out by: Woolhope Naturalists Field Club

Summary Description:

The county of Herefordshire is a nationally important landscape, containing notable parklands, especially Moccas Deer Park which is a National Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.  Over recent years there has been growing concern about the threats facing treescapes in the county; an increasing proportion of trees are dying prematurely, faster than natural regeneration in the parklands, particularly the oak trees.

This project is a multicomponent communication exercise in the shape of a conference, site visits, exhibition, and book to share research and experience between scientists, landowners, land managers and the general public about the escalating challenges affecting treescapes and their management.
