Bob Stubbs appointed Director of the SFT

Bob Stubbs takes up the post of Director of the Scottish Forestry Trust in December 2008. A forestry graduate from Aberdeen, Bob worked in both forest management and the timber processing industry before following a career in economic and rural development with the Highlands and Islands Enterprise. He was appointed Chair of the Scottish Forest Industries Board in May and sits on a number of forest industries forums within Scotland.

Chairman John Kissock comments on behalf of the Trustees, "We are pleased to be able to appoint someone of Bob's experience and abilities and look to him taking the Trust forward in the future,".

Scottish Forestry Trust is a registered charity (Scottish Charity No. SC008465). The Scottish Forestry Trust was established in 1983 by a gift of share capital, and our role is to provide funds by way of grants, to support research, education and training throughout the UK.  Since our establishment, we have provided nearly £2.7m to fund over 190 projects ranging from supporting post graduate industry applied research, social and environmental forestry, policy formulation and broader public education and awareness.
