Applications
The Scottish Forestry Trust has for many years supported a wide range of research, education and training projects throughout the UK. In recent years, the pressure on requests for funding has been significant and we are currently supporting nearly 20 high-quality projects, many of which have multi-annual funding commitments extending over the next three years.
At its Trustees meeting on 16 April 2009, it was agreed that given the current significant project portfolio and in the current extreme economic climate, now was the time to undertake a wider strategic review of the way the Trust deploys its funding in the future. As a result, there will be a moratorium on receiving further new applications until after the December 2009 Trustees’ meeting. At that point, there will be a further announcement as to when, and on what basis, we will resume supporting applications for assistance. In the meantime, the May and September application rounds for 2009 have been suspended.
